finally a new post!

I know I've been very behind with updating this thing. Just haven't really had too much exciting going on.

Thursday we went and finally got Haylee's "6 month" pictures done. She is 7 months old though LOL. Oh well, better late than never. We also got a family picture and some Father's Day pictures done. Dave didn't know about the pictures in the jerseys, so he was very excited about that. He said that's all he wants every year for Father's Day is a picture of them together. I was very pleased with the outcome of them, and it ended up being VERY hard to narrow them down to decide what to get. We always spend way too much money on pictures of Haylee. Here are a few of our favorites.

I also haven't been able to load regular pictures I've taken because for some reason my computer won't read my card from my camera anymore. I also have the cutest video to show everyone of Haylee laughing up a storm. I'll figure something out soon.

On Friday we had an eventful day. I went to Ocean Breeze with Kimberly, Kylie, Marty, Emily and Rylee. Haylee stayed home with her Daddy. She was taking a nap when it was time to go so we figured she should sleep longer instead of waking her up. Which was a good idea because she ended up sleeping another hour and half! She's getting better at longer naps. She has her days. We had a fun time at Ocean Breeze and then I came home to finish packing to go up to Woodbridge to visit Dave's family. Well while I was upstairs packing Dave was downstairs with Haylee. She was sitting in her bouncy seat on top of the recliner and apparently wasn't buckeled in correctly and fell out. She doesn't sit still for anything anymore and I don't think Dave realized that. He had first thought she threw a toy on the ground but quickly realized it was her. She was screaming and he ran her upstairs to me. She ended up getting a bloody nose and it started bruising and swelling right away so we decided to take her to her doctor's to make sure she was ok. Dave felt SO horrible. Blamed himself for everything. Was practically in tears. Man, tough Daddy sure melts for his baby girl =) So the doctor's said she was fine. It's not broken or diviated and she was acting normal. I gave her some tylenol at home before we left so as soon as that kicked in she started smiling and acting like herself. Oh, they weighed her and she weighed 17 lbs. 15 oz.! Almost 18 oz! What a chubs. She also recently moved up to size 5 diapers! They only go up to size 6 so I don't what we're going to do after that! Home made ones?? LOL. So after the drama with the fall we finally made it back home and packed up the car and left for the road. We sat in a ton of traffic of course since it was later than we originally planned on leaving and a Friday afternoon. The tunnel traffic was horrible. We finally made it there in 4 hours I believe.

Saturday we went to Dave's grandmother's & dad's house. We stayed there about 2 hours. Haylee warmed up to them fine after awhile. At first she was a little stand-offish as always. They absolutely loved her (as everyone does of course!). I do have pictures of that too I'll load later if I can get my camera to work. After that we just went back to Dave's brother's house and watched a movie and ate pizza.

Sunday morning we got up and left for home. Once we got home Haylee and I went out to my parents to spend some time with Grandpa on Father's Day. We went to Ruby Tuesday's for lunch then came back and played some Mario carts racing each other for a little while. Haylee slept for a long time so I ended up staying out there until about 7pm, racing with my Mom. It was a fun day.

Not much planned for today. I need to clean the house some and then go to Walmart for some baby stuff. Always buying baby stuff LOL.

We're home

So we made it home from IL. It had to be the longest drive home ever! We had a blast in IL and hated to leave so soon. The week flew by, as do all vacations, but this one really flew by. We had an eventful ride home.

The first day wasn't too bad, other than seeing a Uhaul almost run a motorcycle off the road right in front of us, and us running off the road a little (I won't name names as to who was driving...). But all in all we made it to the hotel in good time. After we got there we went to Steak & Shake for dinner than Chick-fil-A for Kylie to play in the play area. After we got there we were thinking we should of just ate there for dinner too! Oh well. After CFA we went back to the hotel because Haylee was getting fussy for bedtime. We decided to put Kylie to bed first so she could get her screaming fit out and hopefully it wouldn't take long this time for her to fall asleep. In the meantime, Haylee and I went back to CFA because Kimberly forgot Kylie's shoes there. Haylee fell asleep in the car and I had to drive around for a while because Kylie wouldn't fall asleep. Eventually she did so we went inside. Shortly after Kimberly and I went to bed too since we couldn't watch TV or anything since the girls were sleeping.

On the second day of traveling it was not so good! We got up late because the girls slept in until 8. Which was nice for us but not good for our time. So we got up and ate some breakfast at the continential breakfast the hotel had. Then we got gas and got on the road around 9:15. Literally as soon as we got on the highway we saw smoke in the air. As we got closer we were hoping it wasn't on our side but as soon as we went over a hill we saw it was. Our side was stopped. Apparently a semi truck had blown a tire and lost control. His gas tank had detached and was on fire on a small bridge. The truck was no where in sight. We saw people running from the other side of the highway to the fire. It had JUST happened. Someone had a fire extinquisher and put the fire out. No emergency crew were there yet. We were maybe 10 cars behind the whole thing. Eventually the police and ambulance and fire trucks and road side crew and a bunch of other emergency vehicles showed up. Everyone who was stopped on our side was out of their cars and walking around. We got the girls out of their carseats and let them stretch their legs. We heard from a UPS driver that was also stuck there about what had happened and that the driver had gotten out of it with just a broken arm so that was good since his truck had gone off the edge of the bridge. We were there from about 9:20 to 11:00 am. A LONG time sitting there! Eventually they had checked the bridge and let us go! So we were 2 hours behind schedule when we just started. We then kept hitting construction parts all through West Virginia. We never thought we'd make it home and I don't think the girls did either. They were getting fussy and over the car. We finally got home around 8 pm.

Haylee has changed a lot in just one week of us being gone. She now "spits" and tries to use her tongue too when she's doing it like we do. She clicks her tongue that Papa taught her how to do. She also does this weird thing where she breathes in really hard and makes a funny noise. I guess she's learning all different ways to make noises. She was rolling around ALL over Nana and Papa's house. Now she can go both ways and makes sure she does it. She also realized she likes to sleep on her side and practically does it every time she's sleeping. Today she fell asleep on her belly and was drooling all over her crib =) She is getting her FIFTH and SIXTH tooth next to her top two teeth! Yeah, I can't believe it!! She is a teething machine! She eats all kinds of baby food and her least favorite is peas. I think her favorite is bananas. We've just gotten some mixture kinds, her first mixture was pears and rasberries and she likes that.

Well I have to go now because she is crying for some lunch!
