We're having what?!

By now I'm sure you have all heard the wonderful news that we are expecting... TWINS! Dave and I were definitely shocked to say the least when the ultrasound tech showed us Baby B. We are happy though... and nervous of course... but excited for this new adventure in our lives!

I've been looking all through Pinterest for awhile now trying to decide how to announce our pregnancy to family and friends through photos. I found some really cute ideas and of course had to tweak them a bit when we found out there was 2! My sister took these for us the weekend after we found out and I LOVE the way they turned out!

of course we had to do a funny one!

she's such a proud Big Sister!

An ultrasound pic of the two babies close up. Baby B is on the left and Baby A is on the right =)
7 weeks 6 days

Another view - it seems Baby B's back was to us and Baby A was facing us

The ultrasound tech said she is pretty certain they are identical twins, Mo/Di. This means they will share a placenta and main sac but each does have their own amniotic sac. This is good news as them having their own amniotic sac will prevent them from having their cords tangle in each others. They do however have the chance of having Twin to Twin Transfusion but the doctors will keep a close eye out for that.

So we are now going to be followed by my regular OB/GYN and also a Maternal Fetal Medicine OB for high risk pregnancy. We have an ultrasound set up with them in 2 weeks for them to check on everything and the whole Twin to Twin Transfusion thing. They will also confirm for certain if they are identical or not as their ultrasounds are more "high tech" per the ultrasound tech we last saw.

I am going to try and do weekly or monthly updates and post ultrasound pics as I get them!
