Best Moment this week: seeing the babies yesterday, it's been 3 weeks since my last US due to a scheduling mistake & I felt like it had been forever! Also the nursery almost being done!
Fraternal twins at 28 weeks
My doctors appointment went well yesterday. The boys are growing & are the same size basically, which is great for identical twins and their fluids are measuring great. In the beginning Noah was head down & Jackson was breech but sometime during the US Jackson flipped (probably because Noah's legs were around his neck!) and we ended with them both being head down. Hopefully they will stay that way so we can try a natural (non c-section) birth! Of course I'm sure they will still flip a lot more in the next 10 weeks ;-) I also got my RhoGAM shot in my bum LOL (due to having a negative blood type).
I'm not sure if I ever updated this but I did pass my glucose test (woo hoo) but did find out I am anemic so I have been started on iron supplements. Also, my doctor at last weeks appointment wanted me to go down to 8 hours shifts and he also put me on a 15 lb weight lifting limit. Well unfortunately due to the weight lifting limit my work was unable to "accommodate" it (there is no light duty in nursing, especially on my floor) so I was forced to take early maternity leave. This was not my plan at all and financially it's not going to be the easiest but I believe it was meant to be (especially with these constant contractions lately) and I can already tell a difference with my back pain ceasing! Just praying it all works out & I still have a job when I'm able to go back.
As I mentioned above I have been having a LOT of contractions lately. Wednesday night for about 4 hours straight I had contractions about every 6 mins (give or take) and was tempted to call the doctor due to them not stopping, even with water & resting on my left side. However they were not getting stronger or closer together & I didn't have any bleeding so I never called, plus I reallllly didn't want to have to go all the way to the hospital that night if it was nothing. I had a few more that night that woke me up & have been getting them every hour ever since, just not as often as that night. I spoke with the NP at my appointment about it and she wasn't concerned. She said with twins you do feel that sooner than with a singleton and as long as they aren't really strong or closer together then it's fine. Of course I need to keep an eye on it & if I am ever concerned I can go to the office to be monitored. I don't remember getting them for that long of a period at once with Haylee until the last few weeks of pregnancy and I had her soon after. So I'm hoping that's not the case with these. I pray to make it until 36 weeks at least! If you could please pray also we'd appreciate it!
Now for some pictures (sorry for the novel!)...
