Birthday Party!

We had a great time at Haylee's 1st Birthday party! It turned out just the way I imagined and I think she loved it. A lot of friends and family came to help celebrate with us too. Haylee is so loved by many!

I was a little worried about how she was going to act because she didn't take a nap ALL day long. She was just wonderful though of course. She loves other people's company and all of the attention. It started at 1 p.m. and people started to leave around 3 p.m. We ate a lot of food, then we opened gifts and then had some delicious cake! Haylee took a little while to warm up to eating the cake but once she got started she realized how good it was and dug in. She received a lot of great gifts, lots of fun toys that she couldn't decide which one to play with and a lot of pretty clothes.

Today she played with those toys and kept going from toy to toy to toy. She was on toy over-load and then went to bed at 5:30! She was falling asleep while eating dinner so I decided to lay her down early. She fell asleep really quickly as I knew she would. She had such a busy weekend and it's probably all catching up with her. Hopefully she'll still sleep until 7:30 tomorrow! After the party, Grandma and Grandpa wanted to keep the girls for the night so Grandpa could see them some more before everyone left for IL!

Here comes the Birthday Girl!!

Today is Haylee's 1st Birthday! It's so exciting and so sad! I've enjoyed this past year with her so very much. Watching her grow into the person she is today was awesome. Learning all kinds of new things and doing it at her own pace, no one can make her crawl or walk sooner than she wants to! She's stubborn already haha. I'm so proud of her and I love her more and more each day, more than I could of ever imagined! She's such a joy to be around, so happy and smiley and laid back. We have been so blessed with this little girl! She seems to try to talk a lot, tries to repeat what we're saying. She says something that sounds very close to "what's that" and I'm not the only who has heard it haha. She says cat and dog and mama and dada. She points at everything and waves all the time too. It's so cute to watch her wave. And she loves to wave at people and strangers, she LOVES people and the attention she gets. She also makes this new face where she scowls her eyebrows and pouts, it's so funny. I'll put a picture of her doing that on here. She is definitely starting to get a little attitude on her! She will make it known when she's not happy and doesn't or does want something. Can't wait for that attitude to only get better! Ha! She still doesn't walk yet but she is cruising really good now. I don't think it'll be too much longer still she gets the nerve to let go. She starts doing this downward dog position like she doesn't want to crawl but can't walk yet. I saw her doing it in her crib too. Like she was going to do a head stand haha. Oh, she only needs one more tooth and then she'll have them all. I think it's going to break through any day now, it's getting there! She learned a new trick of spitting out her food. She will chew it up then decide she doesn't want to swallow it and so she spits it out! Bad girl. Her well baby doctor appointment isn't until the 18th so I won't be able to update her stats until then but I do think she's slowed down in her weight gain. She doesn't seem to be that big anymore and she's still just wearing 12 month clothes, she used to be months ahead in her clothes size. She still has itty-bitty feet too! She's wearing a size 2 in a lot of shoes and can fit a size 3 but they're a little big. According to Target a size 2 is like a 6 month baby size! Her feet are never going to grow! I think she still looks like a little baby, not a ONE year old that's for sure! (sorry I got carried away with this update haha)

Today was our day for our weekly lunch date with Grandma. We decided to go to Red Robin, Haylee likes the grilled cheese sandwiches there (& mommy likes the soup!). Haylee wore a very special "Birthday Girl" ribbon that I think she'll wear for every birthday to come (until she's too "cool" for it of course). We had the waitors sing her Happy Birthday and she watched them very closely. She wasn't too sure what to think of it all but she didn't cry or anything, just watched them. They gave her an ice cream sunday that she enjoyed... and mommy finished for her =) So here are a few pictures of her actual birthday day. Tomorrow is her party and we'll have more pictures of that tomorrow!

Haylee's 1st Birthday

Haylee's FIRST Birthday is one week from tomorrow! I can't believe it... (I know I say that often haha) but I really can't! I just don't even know where this past year went. I took her to get her 1st birthday pictures done on Wednesday and Kimberly met us there. They turned out GREAT and I could have probably bought almost every single picture. She's such a cheeser so it's hard not to get good pictures! It was hard to narrow them down but it had to be done since we're going to be back there very soon to be taking Christmas pictures. Here are the three pictures we did choose.

Videos!

Just a quick post with 2 recent video's of Haylee. In both videos she is listening to music, which she loves and she loves to dance to it. I think she's definitely going to be a dancer when she gets a little older!

This one she is at Plaza Azteca dancing to the music. You can't really hear the music though. I like how she's just dancing with no real emotion on her face, like it's just natural for her to dance, haha. There was also this little boy sitting next to us that she kept talking to and staring at and she even waved at him! I've never seen her wave at someone with out hearing "hi" or "bye" first. She just did it all on her own. It was so cute (unfortunately we didn't get it on video though).

This video is at Kimberly’s house. She has this ABC toy that goes on the fridge that you put a letter into the slot and it will say the letter and then say what the letter “says.” There’s also a button on there that you can press and it just plays the ABC song, which Haylee figured out and kept pushing the button. It’s so cute to see her figure things out now. She’s learning so much!
