YAY for SNOW!

Finally it snowed here!! We've been let down the past couple of years in IL and of course we don't get much of anything here so this is great. Haylee's first snow! She is a fan... from INSIDE the house! haha! She acted like she wanted to go outside and at first was saying "whoooaaa whoooaaa" but once she got outside she didn't like it much. It was pretty windy and big flakes were falling down so she was getting it in her face. Plus, she can't walk yet so not like she could run around in it or anything. But it was still very pretty to look at! I think Dave wished she wanted to play in it more. After she went down for her nap he was asking if I was going to go back out and play LOL. Big kid at heart.

Well here are a few pictures of her trip outside and first time ever seeing snow!

"what is this stuff?"
sweet face

looking like a blizzard out there!
she loves her Daddy

And here's a video of before we headed outside... yes I'm married to a RETARD!

Update

Just a quick update and video. It's been a long time since I've written.

Haylee is doing great. Still NOT walking though =( She has no desire even though we try every single day to get her to, even holding onto our hands or with her walker. So since she's almost 15 months old I'm expecting her to be a genius when she gets older. It's funny because at her 12 month appt. her doctor said they usually give them until about 15 months to walk and that's when her next appt. is. So her doctor was saying she'll be walking the next time they see her. I definitely thought she would be and thought how crazy it would be if she wasn't. Well, it's not looking like she will! haha. She doesn't even take ONE step in between furniture! Oh well, every child develops differently and she can use her legs just fine, when she cruises and crawls and what not. She just isn't a risk taker! She's starting to talk more. She will try to tell you something in her own language. And if she wants you to listen she will put her face in yours to get your attention. It's hard to explain but it's really cute. Today at lunch she wanted Grandma to hold her and was talking to her and telling her about her day. She does say a few more words too, she says Thank You (sorta) and Please (or cheese LOL), along with the original words. She's got such a great personality still and is very expressive. She will scowl her eyebrows in a heartbeat if she doesn't like what's going on. I love to watch her relationship with Kylie change. They're starting to be able to really interact with each other and it's great. It's such a cute thing to watch (until a certain cousin starts being mean!). Marty also likes Haylee a lot and plays & talks to Haylee. I think she's starting to get bored with her toys. Right now her favorite places/things to mess with are: getting into the fireplace (the video will show this), getting into the filing cabinet, taking baths, pushing buttons on laptops (& found the power button on my new laptop), climbing up the stairs (today she went up about 4 stairs, definitely time for a gate!), going bye-bye but HATES car rides, sharing her food/drinks, going to Kylie's... I know there's more but that's all I can think of right now. She's also had her hands in her mouth A LOT lately so I'm wondering if her 2nd year old molars might be coming through soon. I felt around but didn't feel any new teeth, just old teeth biting down on my fingers =) That's about it for Haylee

I am back in school for the semester. I'm taking Math, Ethics and Anatomy & Physiology 2. So far it's not horrible but I'm definitely not looking forward to all the studying I'm going to have to be doing for Anatomy. At the campus I am taking it at they use a cadaver a lot and the quizzes and practicals have them on it. Well, the cadaver is a lot harder than using models so I'm a little worried about that. Our cadaver right now is really old and drying up like beef jerky and it's a mess so it doesn't really look like great. So that scares me. But the campus did just get a new cadaver (which was actually brought into our class during the 1st lab, straight from the funeral home) so that'll be nice. It'll probably look really good and make things easier! On another school note, I've also applied to the Respiratory Therapy program through TCC. This is a 24 month program then I will be able to become an RRT. I'm pretty much 100% certain I won't be getting accepted to the Nursing program so I have to start looking at other options. I don't have forever to get a career and move on with my life! Getting into this program is looking pretty good. Right now I have a group interview, with 7 other people, next Thursday. We are not really sure what this interview will be like but the director said it's nothing to be scared of. So I'm hoping it turns out good and I get accepted. I've also been considering a Surgical Tech program through Sentara. If I went that route I would be in school for 12 months then become a Surgical Tech. After that I'd work as a Surgical Tech for 3 years then go back to school to EVMS for a year and become a Surgical Assistant. Surgical Assistants actually assist surgeons during surgeries, by doing sutures and what not. So the only way I would be a Surg. Tech is to become a Surg. Asst. in the end but that's a longer road to go down in order to make the big bucks! Dave is just ready for me to do something and he's leaning towards Resp. Therapy so I can be done and making good money in 2 years. So that's about it for me. So many choices, I'm just afraid I'm going to get into something I won't like. And as everyone knows, I'm HORRIBLE at making decisions =)

Dave doesn't really have anything new going on. He's still working in the Gangs Detective Dept. He's starting to not like it that much, and is considering transferring somewhere else though. But he needs to stay in there for at least 2 years, so he has another year before he can go somewhere else. He's also decided he wants to go to school and get a degree in something. If he gets a degree while he's in the police dept. then he can become a Master PO or a Sergeant (& make good money). He also needs something to do when he retires. So he is thinking about going for Criminal Justice so he can do Probation of Parole. It's a 4 year degree, so it will take him a while to do going part time but he has plenty of time to finish it.

So I hope you enjoy these videos of Haylee. They were taken the same day of her just playing around the house =) Oh, please excuse the shaking & movement, I may be good at taking still pictures but I'm still not good at videography! LOL

Getting mad because she can't go "bye-bye"

Playing in the fireplace (her new obsession)... all the cool kids do it!
