New play kitchen!!

Haylee had out grown her Laugh & Learn kitchen (which I am selling on Craigslist if anyone is interested!) so we decided to get her a new kitchen. I had been looking around on Craigslist for a new one but hadn't been able to find one I really liked that would be small enough to fit in our little nook where Haylee's toys are. Plus, we were looking to get one for her birthday so we had time. Well a friend of Kimberly's had posted on Facebook that she was selling one for $15 so we decided to take it. Can't beat that price!

Christina dropped it off on Wednesday morning and Haylee started to play with it before Christina even left. She put her bear in the high chair and played with it all day. I especially love when she points and talks to her bear and makes her take a bite LOL it's so cute! Then this morning when she came downstairs she yelled "kitchen" like she was so excited it was still there. She also likes to eat her lunch and dinner sitting at the little table. Now we just need to get her some dishes and food so she has stuff to play with on there!

Painting a magnet

I went to Target the other day and was looking at the dollar section and found this cute painting set that came with two wooden magnets to paint and some paint in four colors and a little paint brush. I thought it would be good for Haylee since the water paints were a little difficult for her. She painted just one of the magnets and we'll keep the other one for another day. She of course loved it and was so excited to do it! She would of done it all day if I let her and got mad when I had to close up the paint.

purple first!

mad that Mommy closed the paints
made a mess!
still mad at Mommy

Brownies!!

For my Sociology class my teacher wanted to do a family field trip to experience how families interact with each other. Our class chose to meet at Mount Trashmore and to do a pot luck type dinner. I decided to make brownies and my little helper wanted to be a part of it of course! She loves to help out with everything now days, from laundry to baking (she also helped decorate Grandpa's birthday cake). I love her by my side all the time and her helping me. It's so cute to watch her learn new things and to watch her feel important! I can tell she feels so good about herself =)

cutie!
(ended up with mix all over her clothes too!)

Library Story time!!

I decided I wanted to take Haylee to a library story time class after reading someones blog who takes her children. It looked like a lot of fun and I wanted to take Haylee somewhere (other then Kimberly's to play with Kylie) so she could interact with other kids and learn about reading. Here is what Haylee's class is:

Onesies Rhyme Time (Ages 12 – 24 months with caregiver)
More active than our Baby Rhyme Time, Onesies Rhyme Time also builds early language skills as children move from crawling to walking. Storytimes include rhymes, books, signs and hands-on activities to build pre-reading and large motor skills.

I wasn't sure how she would do since she's never been in a "structured" class or any class at all. She LOVED it though!! She was dancing and singing and talking to the other kids. She was not shy at all like she can be sometimes. One little girls name was Kyleigh and Haylee thought it was her Kylie so she got so excited and starting running around looking for "Ky-Ky". It was cute and hard to explain to her that there are other Kylie's out there.

Everyone knows she loves to dance and they did a lot of that. We sang songs and with every song there was some sort of hand movement or dance to go with it. Most of the kids were running around and doing their own thing but Haylee was sitting in my lap for the beginning of it just singing all the songs and doing all of the motions. She was really into it. After a little while she got up and was dancing to them but she always went along with the songs and what was going on. They also teach a new sign language each class. This time it was "book." I was so happy she loved it so much that I even got a little choked up & emotional about it! I just love seeing her SO happy =) We can't wait to go back next week!

Here's a REALLY short video. I just thought it was cute because she kept saying "whooooaaaa"

After story time we went to lunch with Grandma, Auntie KK & Kylie. It was my day to pick and I chose Friendly's. It was delicious! And we all got ice cream afterwards (that's the whole reason to go to Friendly's!).

Norfolk Zoo trip

Last Saturday night I decided I wanted to go to the Zoo with Haylee on Sunday so I invited Grandma to join us. I've been wanting to go again since Haylee is walking now and I figured we should go now since the weather is nice and summer is almost over.

Before we got there we wanted to eat lunch so we were going to go to Doumar's. Unfortunately though it is closed on Sunday's and we didn't know. So we just went to IHOP, which was right by there. We had some yummy breakfast and Haylee had LOTS of broccoli. She has just recently been wanting to eat broccoli. Whenever I tried to get her before to eat she never would but one day she was at KK's and Kimberly offered Haylee some of Kylie's broccoli and she ate some and has been wanting it ever since. It makes me very happy! LOL. After IHOP we went straight to the Zoo. We all had a really fun time and were very tired after we left! Enjoy the tons of pictures =)
