So Haylee is 18 months old now =) She is still the sweetest little girl ever and we are so blessed! She had her 18 month well baby appointment today. It went well but there is one slight problem.
Here are her stats:
Weight: 21.5 lbs - 10 percentile
Height: 30.75 inches - 25 percentile
Head: 17 3/4 inches - 3 percentile (I'm not sure this is correct...)
So basically she is a little, petite girl =) She lucked out and didn't have to get any shots (thanks to the alternative schedule we are on & the fact that her doctor doesn't have the MMR as seperate shots)! The doctor didn't really say anything about her stats so I assume they were fine. She was mostly concerned about her walking. As you all know, she refuses to walk on her own. She does walk with our help or cruising. As long as she is hanging onto something. She won't even stand on her own. As soon as you let go of her hand she sits right down. So when the doctor got in there she asked, "is she running around all over the place now?" and we were like noooo, not at all. She immediately got a very serious and concerned face and was silent (thinking I assume LOL). So needless to say she was not happy about this. She did her exam and looked at her legs. She said she has good reflexes and muscle strength so she's not sure what's going on. She also pointed out how she is right on target for her other developments (she asked if she feeds herself with a spoon - which she does well - and a few other things that I can't remember). We also showed her how she walks and how she drops right to the ground when we let go of her hand. She did point out something we've been noticing, that she walks with her feet pointing out. Mostly her left foot points out. So she said she wanted us to go see 2 different doctors. An Ortho doctor and a Neuro-Development doctor. She said she doesn't think it'll be anything serious and that most likely they will just send her to a Physical Therapist. When she said she wanted to send her to the Ortho doctor, I was like ok, that makes sense. But when she said Neuro I almost cried. I had to fight it. That is scary to think it could be something that serious but I really think she is just fine. The doctor even asked Haylee if something was wrong or if she was just being ornery. I'm hoping for the later!! I've been able to make the Ortho appointment, it will be May 26th at 9:30 am. And the Neuro appt. is on June 9th at 2:30pm (right during nap time!).
Just an update on how Haylee is doing otherwise. She is doing great!
- She LOVES to eat, especially her fruit. She's a major fruit kid. She's not that big on veggies of course but she will eat it if she has nothing else LOL. I'm happy with how good she does at eating. I'm glad she's not that picky. She likes to eat whatever we are eating also, she will go back and forth between Dave & I, taking a bit of our food. She's also been drinking a lot of milk lately. And loves to drink out of a straw.
- She talks a lot. She will try to repeat most words you say to her. She calls me Mommy mostly (instead of Mama). She's always saying Dada. She also says Dora, Elmo, Hi & Bye (a lot), blue, Marty, KyKy, Kaysee, Nana, Papa, puppy, kitty, bird, uh-oh, please, mine, night night, muuuaaahhh (for a kiss) and a lot more that I can't remember haha. Kimberly has even heard her say "Watch Dora". Today Dave was saying "boogie, boogie, boogie" and she was repeating it. Although it sounded more like "boooie, booie boooie" LOL. She'll also tell you stories (of course none of it makes sense but she is very serious when telling you). She's once called me Nic Nic b/c Kylie was =)
- Her favorite songs are "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" (which she puts her hands in the sky and sings along to it) and "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands" (which she claps her hands through the whole thing).
- She LOVES to watch Dora. As soon as it comes on she starts to squeal and dance. Which, she still loves to do anywhere there is music. She will dance to anything. We were at a restaurant the other day and there was classical music on and she was even dancing to that. She also likes to watch Elmo and Yo Gabba Gabba.
- She's down to one nap a day. Usually it's from like 12:30 til 4ish but today she went to bed at 11am. She still goes to sleep for the night at 7pm and wakes up between 8 and 9am.
- She has 2 of her two year old molars coming through right now. Both on the bottom. So needless to say she has been extra cranky lately, poor thing.
- She loves to go down slides at the park. That's about all she can do at the park ;-) She hates to swing though.
- She's NOT a fan of the beach at all but likes water. She loves baths and lakes apparently. She doesn't like getting into little pools yet but likes to play at a water table Kimberly has. I think the main thing she hates at the beach is the sand but also the waves might scare her a bit.
- In the morning when you go get her up she will say "Hiii" and wave to us and then give us a kiss "muuuaahhhh". She's so sweet.
- She loves her KyKy. She's always so excited to see her and gives her kisses. She always is a Grandma's girl and is always wanting to be with her.
- She is going into the Terrible Two's a little early LOL. She'll throw tantrums and kick her feet. She makes sure you know that she doesn't want to do something or doesn't want YOU to do something. Her favorite word is "NOO" and she will look right at you and say it. But, she sounds so cute when she says it LOL. So it's terribly hard to get mad at her =) Lately she's been saying "NO" then she will give us a kiss "Muuuaaahhh" haha. She's a mess and definitely gets her temper from her Daddy!
